Overview

Accounts & Profiles define how individuals exist inside PlayerUp.

Each person has:

  • A user account (how they log in and access teams)
  • One or more profiles (how they appear to others in the context of a team or organization)

For players, profiles focus on development: evaluations, goals, progress, and participation history. For coaches and staff, profiles highlight roles and responsibilities: which teams they support and what they can access.

PlayerUp is not a registration or league admin platform — tools like TeamSnap, GameChanger, PlayMetrics, and Spond still handle that layer. Accounts & Profiles in PlayerUp are optimized for the coaching and player development experience on top of your existing systems.

Who it’s for:

  • Players who want a clear view of their own development story
  • Coaches and staff who need structured access to teams and data
  • Organizations that want consistent identity and access across multiple teams

How it works

  1. Create or join an account
Users sign up once and can then be added to one or more teams or organizations.
    • Players: typically invited by a coach or organization
    • Coaches/staff: added with specific roles and permissions
  2. Player profiles
    Each player profile centralizes:
    • Name, position, and basic details
    • Evaluations & Feedback history
    • Goals & Development Plans
    • Attendance and event history
    • Progress & Analytics views
  3. Coach & staff profiles
    Non-player profiles emphasize:
    • Which teams they’re attached to
    • Their role (head coach, assistant, director, etc.)
    • What they can see or edit: evaluations, plans, messages, and more
  4. Multiple teams and organizations
A single account can belong to:
    • Multiple teams (e.g., club team + school team)
    • Multiple organizations (e.g., academy + regional program)
Users can switch context without juggling different logins.
  5. Secure access and onboarding
All access is permissioned through the team and organization structures — controlled by Admin Tools & Roles. Players only see their own development data; coaches and admins see what their role allows.

Key benefits

  • One identity across everything
Players, coaches, and staff use a single account across all teams and seasons.
  • Clear separation of “who you are” and “where you belong”
Profiles are tied to teams and organizations — roles and visibility change with context, not with separate logins.
  • Rich player history in one place
Evaluations, goals, and analytics follow the player profile, making long-term development easier to track.
  • Controlled access for staff
Roles and permissions ensure the right people see the right data — nothing more, nothing less.
  • Works alongside admin tools
Use external platforms for registration and payments; use PlayerUp accounts to power coaching and development workflows.
